Before now, actor Hugh Jackman has been suggesting that he’s ready to retire from his signature role of Wolverine in the “X-Men” movies. All indications are that the upcoming “X-Men: Apocalypse” and third “Wolverine” stand-alone movies – both aiming to shoot in the second half of next year – would be his swan song as the character.
However, that may not be the case anymore. Speaking at the Australian premiere of “X-Men: Days of Future Past” on Friday night, Jackman indicated to IGN he’s more open to the idea of sticking around:
“At one point, you’re right, I said I was pretty sure [that ‘Wolverine 3’ would be my last outing in the role]. But I’m less sure as it goes along. Because after seeing this movie, the whole thing feels fresher to me than ever. And during this movie… I don’t want to spoil anything, but it’s kind of like a clean slate, so who knows where it’s going to go. As long as I have the passion for it and the fans will have me.”
Could the actor have struck a new deal with Fox? Jackman admitted in a separate Tumblr chat that he’s currently not signed on for any further “X-Men” films.
