Hugh Jackman will star in the civil rights movement feature “Selma” for Cloud Eight Films, Plan B and Pathe UK says USA Today.
Paul Webb has penned and Lee Daniels (“Precious”) will direct the story of the historic 1965 march in the Alabama town that marked the political and emotional peak of the civil rights movement
Daniels told the paper that he’s pretty much finished writing the film, and now “I have to really start casting the movie because we’re shooting it soon. The only person I’ve nailed in for sure is Hugh Jackman. It’s all over the place.”
Previously Robert De Niro was linked to play Alabama Governor George Wallace, no word if that will still happen. Shooting kicks off in May.
