Jackie Earle Haley (“Watchmen,” “Little Children”) has been hired to play the iconic villain Odin Quincannon in AMC’s upcoming series adaptation of Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon’s 1990s Vertigo comic series “Preacher”.
The series revolves around Rev. Jesse Custer (Dominic Cooper), a badass Texas preacher who, after losing his faith, learns God has left heaven and so sets out to track him down and hold him responsible for his abdication. His beer-guzzling vampire ex-girlfriend (Ruth Negga) accompanies him on his quest for answers.
Haley has booked a six-episode arc in the series playing a small, decrepit man with the unscrupulous iron will necessary to be the most powerful man in a Texan county thanks to him being the owner and operator of a 125-year-old slaughterhouse business.
He’s also a member of the local KKK branch, has sex with a mannequin made out of meat products, and clashes multiple times with Jesse. The series is slated to debut sometime this Summer.
