Hong Kong action-comedy icon Jackie Chan is returning to the small screen with the 104-episode strong 3D cartoon series “J-Team: All New Jackie Chan Adventures,” a sort-of follow-up to Chan’s U.S.-made animation series “Jackie Chan Adventures”.
The series boasts a child version of Chan and a team of kid protagonists who defend a magical dreamland against monster invaders. At the end of each episode, Chan briefly appears in live-action form to drive the lesson home and give encouragement.
The $6 million production is set to air on three children’s satellite TV channels and 200 terrestrial channels across China from later this year. Chan’s production partners have big transmedia ambitions for the property, with a feature film in 2019 planned along with merchandising production and theme park attractions.
