Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt are in early talks to star in Morten Tydlum’s sci-fi tale “Passengers” at Sony Pictures.
Jon Spaihts (“Doctor Strange,” “Prometheus”) penned the script which is set on a spacecraft transporting thousands of colonists. A malfunction takes place in one of its sleep chambers, causing a single passenger to be awakened ninety years before anyone else.
Faced with the prospect of growing old and dying alone, he decides to wake up a second passenger, thus beginning a unique love story. The likes of Keanu Reeves, Reese Witherspoon and Rachel McAdams were previously attached to the project at different times.
Of the pair, Lawerence’s involvement is the most in question due to her busy schedule. Neal Moritz, Ori Marmur, Stephen Hamel and Michael Maher will produce.
