J.K. Simmons Would Return To “Spider-Man”

One of the most iconic performances of the Sam Raimi “Spider-Man” movies was current Oscar frontrunner J.K. Simmons’ turn as Daily Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson. The character did not appear in the subsequent “The Amazing Spider-Man” reboot, but it now looks like the possibility of Jameson making a big screen return is there.

In a recent interview with Howard Stern, Simmons was asked if he was every going to do another “Spider-Man” to which he responded: “I just heard that we…that’s a possibility”. Stern followed that up by asking if he wants to revisit the role to which Simmons replied “Absolutely”.

“Casino Royale” set the precedent back in 2006 of a franchise reboot that, nevertheless, retained a key supporting actor. In that case it was Judi Dench who took on the same role she played in previous films, even though the new films are not connected to the old ones. Could we Simmons doing the same with whatever form the Spider-Man franchise takes in the near future?
