J.J. Abrams Goes Back To Spying

NBC is close to landing a deal for a drama series by J.J. Abrams (“Lost,” “Fringe”) and Josh Reims (“Dirty Sexy Money,” “Brothers and Sisters”) says The Hollywood Reporter.

The pilot spec script, which revolves around two spies working together who also are husband and wife, sparked a bidding war last week.

Both ABC and CBS were also pursuing the property which Bad Robot and Warner Bros. TV will produce. Reims and Abrams produced both “Felicity” and “What About Brian” together.

Abrams has dealt with the small screen spy genre before, creating and producing the five-season long ABC cult hit “Alias” which dealt with a father (Victor Garber) and daughter (Jennifer Garner) working as double agents within a corrupt agency called SD6.
