J.C. Chandor To Helm Vince Lombardi Film

“All Is Lost” and “Margin Call” writer-director J.C. Chandor has done a deal to write and potentially direct a biopic about Green Bay Packers head coach Vince Lombardi for Legendary Pictures.

Lombardi led the team to five NFL championships and the first two Super Bowl titles. Thomas Tull and Mary Parent will produce the film.

Deals have been made with the Lombardi estate and will incorporate both David Marannis’ book “Pride Still Mattered” and that book’s Broadway play adaptation by Eric Simonson.

Chandor is prepping “A Most Violent Year” which will begin production early next year.

This is not to be confused with another Lombardi film in the works which Robert De Niro was previously linked to star in. Eric Roth penned that script based on the book “Instant Replay”.
