J.C. Chandor May Direct “Triple Frontier”

Once slated to be helmed by Kathryn Bigelow, it now seems that “All is Lost” and “A Most Violent Year” helmer JC Chandor is in early discussions to direct the topical drama “Triple Frontier” for Paramount Pictures.

The story is an ensemble drama set around the organized crime haven that exists in the border zone between Paraguay, Argentina and Brazil. Plot specifics are still under wraps, but Tom Hanks and Will Smith were said to be circling roles at last report while Charles Roven is producing.

Bigelow and her “Zero Dark Thirty” scribe Mark Boal, who were developing the project shifted their focus instead to a biopic about U.S. soldier Bowe Bergdahl who was held for five years by the Taliban.
