Production on “IT: Chapter 2,” the follow-up to last year’s smash hit Stephen King adaptation, is slated to begin this Summer ahead of a September 2019 release.
Omega Underground reports that shooting is slated to begin June 18th with stage work to once again take place at Pinewood Toronto Studios. Filming would run through to October-November and once again include the Toronto/Port Hope area which stood in for the town of ‘Derry, Maine’.
Gary Dauberman is penning the script for the follow-up and Bill Skarsgard is expected to return as Pennywise the clown. As previously reported, the film will adapt the other half of King’s “IT” novel and be set three decades later with the grown-up versions of the original’s kids.
It’s expected the child actors from the first will appear in flashbacks, but nothing has been officially confirmed in terms of the casting yet and none of the adult roles have yet been filled. Andres Muschietti is expected back as director.
