One recent announcement that caused much excitement was the casting of former “The Walking Dead” star Jon Bernthal as Marvel’s dark anti-hero The Punisher in the upcoming second season of “Daredevil” on Netflix.
Though The Punisher is just one of several key Marvel characters expected to appear in the sequel, Nerdist reports that new co-showrunner Marco Ramirez is literally referring to season two as “Daredevil vs. The Punisher”.
The report also indicates David Lapham’s “Daredevil vs. Punisher: Means and Ends” story, in which Daredevil and the Punisher fight for the soul of Hell’s Kitchen when the city descends into violent chaos following Kingpin’s fall from power, will serve as the basis for at least some of the season’s storyline.
Though both are on the side of justice, both characters take completely opposite approaches with how they hand out punishment to those who do bad things.
