It looks like Nick Fury may be turning up in the next “Thor” film.
Though having appeared in key supporting roles in “Captain America,” “Iron Man” and “Avengers” films, Samuel L. Jackson has yet to bring his Nick Fury character to the “Thor” franchise beyond only a brief uncredited cameo in the end credits stinger of the first film.
Now though it looks like the actor will be joining in the fun in the upcoming “Thor: Ragnarok”.The Gold Coast Bulletin reports that Jackson will reprise his role in the film in scenes shot at the Village Roadshow Studios in Queensland.
It will be a familiar place for him – both he and “Thor” co-star Tom Hiddleston have spent much of the past few months filming “Kong: Skull Island” there. Pre-production on the new “Thor” has begun this weekend ahead of filming in June.
It has previously been confirmed by Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige that the film will have very few scenes on Earth. Fury was last seen in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” offering details of Hulk’s unknown whereabouts to Black Widow. Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk is expected to play a big part in the film which also stars Hiddleston, Chris Hemsworth as Thor himself, and Cate Blanchett as the villain.
Taika Waititi helms the new film which is slated to open November 3rd 2017.
