Iron Man 2, Capt. America, X-Men: F.C. News

“Iron Man 2” pulled in a final actual opening weekend box-office tally of $128.1 million reports Box-Office Mojo – about $5.5 million lower than earlier estimates. Overseas it did better than expected with $58.4 million for the weekend and a $194.2 million total foreign tally.

In other superhero news, Marvel’s Kevin Feige admits to The LA Times that his team “has been doing a lot of research into 3-D processes, and we’re looking at it on future films when we have the time. We will be doing it at some point.” This has lead to unfounded speculation that “Captain America” will be the first film to get said treatment.

Finally, Superhero Hype reports Matthew Vaughn’s frequent scripting collaborator Jane Goldman (“Stardust,” “Kick Ass”) has been brought onboard to help out on the script for “X-Men: First Class” which Vaughn is directing. Last week it was confirmed “Thor” co-writers Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz would also be working on it.
