Irishman Gems Pain Score Nyfcc Awards

Martin Scorsese’s mob drama “The Irishman” has been named best film of 2019 by the New York Film Critics Circle with Joe Pesci also winning best supporting actor.

Other winners include Antonio Banderas taking best actor for “Pain and Glory,” Lupita Nyong’o won best actress for “Us,” Benny and Josh Safdie winning best director for “Uncut Gems,” Laura Dern snagging best supporting actress for “Marriage Story” and “Little Women”.

Also winning were Tarantino’s “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” for best script, “Parasite” for best foreign-language film, “Portrait of a Lady on Fire” snagged best cinematography, “I Lost My Body” won animated film, and “Honeyland” won best documentary
