Fans of AMC’s late underrated western “Hell on Wheels” will be stoked over the news that the show’s leading man Anson Mount has found a new gig – as the lead role of Black Bolt in Marvel and ABC’s “Inhumans” series.
The story will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of the royal family including Black Bolt, an enigmatic and commanding King of the Inhumans – a being with a voice so powerful that the slightest whisper can destroy a city.
Like the character in the comics who does not speak, the TV character will also be silent. Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb says: “Anson loves the challenge of playing a character who will only communicate silently. His enthusiasm mixed with his imposing almost regal persona made it easy to see why he is our Black Bolt.”
Mount joins “Game of Thrones” actor Iwan Rheon who will play his younger brother Maximus the Mad, charming on the outside but he harbors an intense desire to wear the crown himself.
Roel Reine will direct the first two episodes which will debut in IMAX theaters this September prior to the TV premiere in fall. The full first season will run for eight episodes.
