Lakeshore Entertainment and France’s TF1 International will co-produce the ecoterrorism film “The Scent of Adam” says the trades.
The project is based on Jean-Christophe Rufin’s best-selling French novel “Le parfum d’Adam,” about a woman who unwittingly finds herself at the heart of the ecoterrorism movement and conspiracy after freeing lab animals at a research facility in Poland.
Rufin is the French ambassador to Senegal and has worked for France’s Ministry of Defense, led his country’s humanitarian efforts in Bosnia, worked at the French Red Cross and is a co-founder of Doctors Without Borders.
The plan is for an action-packed feature shot in multiple global locations ala Bourne and James Bond. Producers are out to seek writers to adapt the work.
