“Incredibles 2” Nabs $18.5M In Previews

Disney and Pixar’s “Incredibles” sequel pulled in a record-setting $18.5 million in Thursday night previews, more than doubling previous animated film record holder “Finding Dory” with $9.2 million.

‘Dory’ went on to launch with $135 million, and estimates for “Incredibles 2” have it somewhere between $125 million and $140 million, though that could go considerably higher. Reviews for the new film are, for most part, gushing.

The Brad Bird-directed animated project takes on R-rated comedy “Tag” and the remake of “Superfly” which nabbed $1.3 million and $1.2 million respectively from Thursday previews and are both expected to open in the $10-15 million range.
