Iko Uwais Turns Mentor For Snake Eyes

“The Raid” star Iko Uwais is in negotiations to join the “G.I. Joe” spinoff feature “Snake Eyes” at Paramount Pictures, Skydance and AllSpark Pictures.

Henry Golding (“Crazy Rich Asians”) leads the cast as the titular ninja commando who was a breakout when Hasbro and Marvel Comics relaunched the Joe line in the 1980s.

Evan Spiliotopoulos wrote the script for this which centers on Snake Eyes seeking revenge for his father’s death by joining a ninja clan and in the process finding acceptance.

Uwais will play Hard Master, Snake Eyes’ tough as nails teacher who is also a skilled sword master. Andre Koji is set to play Storm Shadow, Snake Eyes’ blood brother and archenemy.

Robert Schwentke helms the film which Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Brian Goldner will produce. Filming begins in Vancouver and Tokyo this Fall.
