“Pacific Rim,” “Thor” and “Luther” actor Idris Elba has been linked to a lot of projects in the last few years. Recently he spoke with The Huffington Post about various casting rumors and projects he’s been linked to. One was another character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe aside from his Heimdall role in “Thor”:
“There was talk about Luke Cage at one time – I thought Luke Cage was a pretty interesting character. They were going to do it, but I don’t know what happened.”
The interviewer then told him how a “Luke Cage” series is coming to Netflix. Elba then responded “That’s right, yeah.”
Elba has also been suggested to be up for the Colin Trevorrow-directed fourth “Jurassic Park” film. Elba shot down the talk, saying “No, it’s just a rumor” and actually seemed surprise another ‘Jurassic’ film was in the works.
Fans have previous suggested Elba for the role of James Bond, an idea he seems to love but he acknowledges is highly unlikely to get:
“I say it all the time, but if it was to ever happen and if I was ever to get offered that role, that would be the will of a nation. That would be like, ‘Wow, human beings are really powerful. They really made that happen, because Barbara Broccoli certainly didn’t’… it would be the will of a nation because everyone has been saying that to me.
