Idris Elba Begins Filming “Bastille Day”

Principal photography has officially begun on James Watkins’ action thriller “Bastille Day” for Studio Canal and Focus Features.

Charlotte Le Bon plays a young French woman Zoe who intends to plant a bomb in Paris to make a radical political statement without hurting anyone in the process, but changes her mind at the last moment.

Unfortunately an American pickpocket (Richard Madden) steals her bag and dumps it at a busy Metro stop. When the bomb explodes, he becomes the prime suspect in a terror attack.

Idris Elba plays a deskbound CIA agent who becomes determined to find to bring the pickpocket into custory before the French authorities do. Kelly Reilly and Jose Garcia also star.

Andrew Baldwin and John Hodge penned the script and shooting will continue in Paris for four weeks before moving to London until mid-December.
