Hunger Games Gets A Stage Production

Get ready for the Katniss Everdeen kickline.

Lionsgate is set to team with Triangular Entertainment and Dutch media company Imagine Nation for a U.K. stage show adaptation of its successful “Hunger Games” franchise.

This theatrical experience will use “innovative and immersive staging techniques” and will launch in Summer 2016 in a brand new, purpose-built theater next to London’s Wembley Stadium.

Award-winning Broadway producer Robin de Levita will produce alongside UK promoter Harvey Goldsmith, Warren Adams, Brandon Victor Dixon, Robert Harris and Gary Ricci.

De Levita has experience with groundbreaking staging presentations, having been responsible for two highly successful projects in Holland that have included ambitious staging – one with a 360-degree rotating auditorium, the other using “rotating life sized stage sets”.

Suzanne Collins’ best-selling trilogy of books has sold more than 80 million copies around the world, while the first two installments of the film franchise have grossed more than $1.5 billion at the worldwide box office.
