The team behind the upcoming film adaptation of “The Hunger Games” are already sparking to their next project. Director Gary Ross, producer Nina Jacobson and her production company Color Force are all attached to a script pitch by John Whittington set up at New Regency.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story is thought to be a contemporary take on literary classic Cyrano de Bergerac – much like rom-coms “Roxanne” and “The Truth About Cats and Dogs”.
The basic story is kept intact of an unattractive man in love with a woman who is forced to woo her surreptitiously using a far more handsome but less expressive suitor. The twist here is that today’s vast and complex social media technology plays a part.
Alison Thomas will also produce.
