Hulu has set the full cast for its high-profile limited series “Catch-22” based on the seminal Joseph Heller novel and directed by George Clooney.
Daniel David Stewart (“The Band’s Visit”), Austin Stowell (“Battle of the Sexes”), Rafi Gavron (“Counterpart”), Graham Patrick Martin (“Major Crimes”), Pico Alexander (“A Most Violent Year”), Jon Rudnitsky (“Saturday Night Live”), Gerran Howell (“Young Dracula”) and Lewis Pullman (“Battle of the Sexes”) have joined the series.
Set in Italy during World War II, Catch-22 is the story of artful dodger Yossarian (Christopher Abbott) – a bombardier for the U.S. Air Force, who is furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him.
But his real problem is not the enemy, but rather his own army which keeps increasing the number of missions the men must fly to complete their service. Yet if Yossarian makes any attempt to avoid his assignments, he’ll be in violation of a sinister bureaucratic rule.
Luke Davies and David Michod have penned the adaptation which Paramount TV and Anonymous Content will produce. Clooney will take on a supporting role while Grant Heslov and Ellen Kuras will also direct episodes.
