As part of its deal with Lionsgate, Hulu has acquired subscription streaming rights to all of Starz’s big budget pirate drama series “Black Sails”.
The first three seasons are set to become immediately available on the service starting today. The fourth and final season will join them shortly after the finale airs on Starz on April 1st – the final episode count for all four seasons to come in at thirty-eight episodes.
The series takes place twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic “Treasure Island” and follows the most feared pirate of the day Captain Flint (Toby Stephens). The first three seasons averaged 3.6 million multiplatform viewers per episode and has been nominated for numerous Emmys.
