Though he has been rumored for the movie, and actor Mark Ruffalo has been spotted hanging around the same locales as the production crew, no-one has officially acknowledged or been seriously able to confirm if The Hulk will make an appearance in next year’s “Captain America: Civil War”.
When we last saw Hulk in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” he essentially disappeared to somewhere unknown. In a new interview with BadTaste, Ruffalo revealed that he WAS originally set to return for ‘Civil War,’ but now it seems the studio has changed its mind:
“Because he’s still missing, and it’s unknown where he is. I thought that I would be in the film, but in the end they evidently believed that the reveal of what happened to the Hulk was too big, and Marvel wants to save that information for later. My character had been in the script, but then he got removed. Who knows, maybe the Hulk will never return. They want to keep the revelation of what happened to him a secret, because it’s something really big.”
Could Ruffalo just be trying to divert attention away from a cameo, or was there an actual appearance that was nixed at some point in production? We probably won’t know until “Captain America: Civil War” hits cinemas on May 6th 2016.
