Following his first foray into television with the BBC One and Amazon mini-series “A Very English Scandal,” actor Hugh Grant is returning to the small screen with plans to join Nicole Kidman in HBO’s six-episode limited series “The Undoing” with Susanne Bier to direct all the episodes.
Nicole Kidman stars as Grace Sachs who is living the only life she ever wanted for herself. She’s a successful New York therapist, has a devoted husband (Grant) and young son who attends an elite private school. Overnight a chasm opens in her life: a violent death, a missing husband, and a chain of terrible revelations.
Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster, and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and herself. “Big Little Lies” and “Boston Legal” writer/producer David E. Kelley will serve as showrunner, writer, and executive producer.
The story is based on the book “You Should Have Known” by Jean Hanff Korelit who also serves as an executive producer alongside “Big Little Lies” producing trio Kidman, Bruna Papandrea and Per Saari.
