Hugh Grant Departs “Bridget Jones 3”

After being attached for several years, Hugh Grant says he’s no longer involved in the proposed third film in the “Bridget Jones’ Diary” franchise.

In an interview for Free Radio (via THR), Grant said: “I decided not to do it, but I think they’re going to go ahead and do it without Daniel.” Grant played Daniel opposite Renee Zellweger and Colin Firth in the 2001 original and its 2004 sequel.

The film itself has long been in development and back in 2012 was halted due to Grant’s unhappiness with the script. At the time Working Title denied the report.
