Hudson Replaces Wilson On “Kung Fu Panda 3”

Kate Hudson is set to replace Rebel Wilson as the voice of one of the new characters in the third “Kung Fu Panda” film at Dreamworks Pictures.

Wilson was due to voice Mei Mei, a crazy ribbon-dancing panda who is romantically obsessed with Po. However, the production schedule became extended, forcing Wilson to bow out due to other commitments

As a result, Hudson will now voice Mei Mei, and the previously completed scenes will be re-animated to reflect Hudson’s take on the character. J.K. Simmons and Bryan Cranston are other new additions to the cast which includes returning regulars Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Seth Rogen and Dustin Hoffman.

In the new film Po is reunited with this real father and discovers a long-lost panda paradise. His happiness is threatened with the emergence of a supernatural villain (Simmons), and Po must train a village of bears to master the martial arts.

Jennifer Yuh Nelson and Alessandro Carloni are directing the film which is slated to open January 29th 2016.
