Howard To Direct Emperor’s Children

Ron Howard will helm Universal’s adaptation of Claire Messud’s 2006 novel “The Emperor’s Children” reports Variety.

Adapted by Noah Baumbach (“Margot at the Wedding,” “The Squid and the Whale”), the story follows East Coast Ivy League grads approaching their thirties with trepidation in 2001.

Howard’s busy directing slate includes “Frost/Nixon” which starts shooting next month, and Da Vinci Code prequel “Angels & Demons” which begins shooting early next year.

Remakes of French thriller “Cache” and ’70s sci-fi film “Colossus: The Forbin Project” are also being considered as directing projects.
