“Desperate Housewives” creator Marc Cherry has landed a four-year, multi-million dollar deal with ABC which will see the prime time soap continue for seven seasons reports Variety.
ABC now not only keeps Cherry tied to the show until May 2011, but has also quietly negotiated deals with all key members of the cast that will keep them there as well for the same period.
Cherry said he has no plans to develop projects beyond “Housewives,” though if he does it’ll be for ABC. The plan is to creatively close up the show around the time his deal ends.
“I think that, at the end of my deal, and after seven seasons, it will be a good time to call it quits. I don’t want anyone else to run the show, and I don’t want us to fade away” he says.
