Following the project going back to the drawing board after the most recent pitch by Michael Gilio was rejected, a new writer has been brought in to work on the screenplay for “Justice League Dark”.
Gerard Johnstone, who penned and directed the acclaimed 2014 New Zealand horror/comedy “Housebound,” will take on the gig. No director has yet been set either, though both Johnstone and Daniel Espinosa were rumored to be up for it the other week.
Damian Szifron and Andres Muschetti were also linked at one time with both having to step away. Doug Liman was previously attached as director but departed the project in May.
The film is expected to be a part of the DC Extended Universe, that will boast several supernatural characters like John Constantine, Zatanna, Swamp Thing, Etrigan the Demon and Deadman.
