“House of Cards” Final Season Plans Set

Netflix’s CCO Ted Sarandos has announced that production on its popular political drama “House of Cards” will resume early next year with a now shortened eight-episode sixth and final season.

The series is proceeding without its Oscar-winning star Kevin Spacey, instead Robin Wright’s Clare Underwood will lead the show with the remaining episodes to “bring closure of the show for fans”.

Production on the final season of the political drama had been suspended ‘indefinitely’ in the wake of sexual misconduct accusations involving Spacey, including by crew members alleging Spacey had created a ‘toxic’ work environment.
