Hot Tub Director Plans A “Cop Swap”

“Hot Tub Time Machine” writer-director Steve Pink is slated to co-write and direct the polic comedy “Cop Swap” for MGM. The studio picked up the project after a bidding war broke out over the weekend for it.

Pink and Jeff Morris are penning the script which deals with an actual international exchange program where cops from all over the world come to America.

In the story a L.A.P.D. cop who doesn’t fit in with his colleagues is assigned to babysit a group of international cops undergoing a one-year internship, a group full of officers considered misfits by their departments back home. They soon stumble upon a major crime.

Nicky Weinstock will produce. Pink remains attached to direct Fox’s “Vacation Friends” starring real life husband-and-wife Chris Pratt and Anna Faris.
