In a rather unexpected bit of news, TMZ reports that a horse (not pictured right) has been killed near the set of the eighth “Fast and Furious” movie which began production on Monday in Iceland.
The horse was grazing when gale force winds picked up a plastic iceberg the production had used for a sequence in the film, and slammed it into the animal – breaking its leg which led to it having to be euthanized. Another horse received injuries during the accident but is expected to make a full recovery.
Neither horse was actually involved in the production. The crew reached out to the owner of the horse to inform them of the tragic accident, and have confirmed that insurance will cover the damages from the incident.
“Fast & Furious 8,” under the helm of F.Gary Gray, will open April 14th 2017.
