Holmes & Moore Vie For Nine

Both Katie Holmes and Demi Moore did singing and dancing auditions in “Chicago” director Rob Marshall’s office recently for his upcoming musical film “Nine” reports Page Six.

An adaptation of the Tony-award winning 1982 Broadway hit, the story is based on an Italian play by Mario Fratti which itself was inspired by Federico Fellini’s autobiographical film “8 1/2”.

In the musical film director Guido Contini, savoring his most recent (and greatest) success but facing his fortieth birthday and a midlife crisis blocking his creative impulses and entangling him in a web of romantic difficulties in early-1960s Venice.

Marshall’s “Chicago” co-stars RenĂ©e Zellweger and Catherine Zeta-Jones are also said to be lined up for plum roles in the feature.
