Michael Hoffman (“One Fine Day,” “The Last Station”) is in talks to direct “The Best Of Me”, the next adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks bestseller, which is set up at Warner Bros. Pictures says Deadline.
The story follows small-town high school sweethearts from opposite sides of the tracks. Now middle-aged and having lived very different lives, they return home for a funeral and confront the past.
Will Fetters (“The Lucky One”) is being courted to do a rewrite of J. Mills Goodloe’s script, while Sparks and Denise DiNovi are producing.
