History Plans “Knightfall” Templar Series

The History Channel has announced “Knightfall,” a currently in-development scripted series chronicling the events leading up to and following the persecution, downfall and burning at the stake of the Knights Templar on Friday the 13th, 1307.

Friday the 13th is known as a cursed day over 700 years later because of this event. Jeremy Renner and Don Handfield’s production company The Combine and Midnight Radio will executive produce the series alongside Richard Rayner, Jeff Pinkner, Andre Nemec, Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg.

The project will join their current scripted drama series “Vikings” along with miniseries and event programming like “The Bible,” “Houdini,” “Sons of Liberty” and so forth.
