Matthew McConaughey and Emile Hirsch have joined the black comedy “Killer Joe” for Voltage Pictures says The Hollywood Reporter.
The story centres on a drug-dealing brother (Emile Hirsch) and sister who plot the death of their mother for the insurance money and hire “Killer Joe” Cooper (Matthew McConaughey), a cop and contract killer to do the deed.
William Friedkin (“The Exorcist,” “The French Connection”) is directing from a script by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning writer Tracy Letts.
Scott Einbinder and Nicolas Chartier will produce. Filming kicks off November 8th in New Orleans.
