Jonah Hill is set to make his directing debut on the coming-of-age film “Mid ’90s” based on a script he has penned. A24 is expected to produce and potentially distribute.
The story follows a young boy coming up in Los Angeles in the mid-1990s learning life lessons with his skateboarding crew of friends. Hill will not act in the film, while a production start date is still being sorted out.
Hill previously worked on the script for “21 Jump Street” and has penned other screenplays such as “The Adventurer’s Handbook”. Scott Rudin and Eli Bush will produce.
