Following their successful collaboration on the acclaimed and popular “The Haunting of Hill House” series, the show’s creators and executive producers Mike Flanagan and Trevor Macy are re-teaming with Netflix for another show – “Midnight Mass”.
The seven-episode series follows an isolated island community which experiences miraculous events, and frightening omens, after the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest.
Much like with ‘Hill House,’ Flanagan will direct and serve as an executive producer alongside Macy. Despite the title, the project has no relation to the Vertigo comics title “Midnight, Mass.”.
The project is part of the multi-year TV deal Netflix signed with Intrepid Pictures earlier this year. The pair are also working on the Hill House follow-up “The Haunting of Bly Manor” which debuts next year.
Flanagan, Macy and Netflix previously collaborated on the films “Gerald’s Game” and “Hush” which both received very good notices.
