Any major male British actor in his thirties right now is likely on the consideration list to take over the role of James Bond should Daniel Craig not return for the next film in the series – something which isn’t quite clear yet.
Idris Elba, Aidan Turner, Luke Evans, Tom Hardy, Damian Lewis, Richard Madden, etc. have all been suggested possibilities in numerous polls, and today one of the more frequently cited potential candidates – Tom Hiddleston – revealed to the Sunday Times that he has no shame to admit he’d love to be considered:
“I simply love the theme tune, the tropes and the mythology. I love the whole thing. If it ever came knocking, it would be an extraordinary opportunity. And I’m very aware of the physicality of the job. I would not take it lightly.”
The comments come as Hiddleston’s performance in the BBC’s event series “The Night Manager” is drawing acclaim and being seen as a potential look at what he might do with the role – akin to Daniel Craig’s turn in “Layer Cake”.
