“Thor” and “The Night Manager” star Tom Hiddleston has joined the cast of the stop-motion animated prehistoric comedy adventure “Early Man” from Aardman Animation and StudioCanal. The project marks Nick Park’s first animated feature since the “Wallace and Gromit” movie over a decade ago.
Hiddleston will voice the “ridiculously pompous” Lord Nooth, governor of the Bronze Age town and a “money-loving tyrant” who is a rival to the film’s Stone Age hero Dug (Eddie Redmayne).
Set at the dawn of time, when prehistoric creatures and woolly mammoths roamed the earth, Early Man tells the story of Dug, along with sidekick Hognob, who unites his tribe against the mighty Bronze Age in a battle to beat them at their own game.
StudioCanal is fully-financing the project which is now shooting in Bristol and will score a release in 2018.
