Hg Wells Works Become Wellsville Series

NBC has begun development of “Wellsville,” a drama that brings together the works of author H.G. Wells much like the way “Castle Rock” pools together elements of numerous Stephen King works into one narrative.

The story follows Ellie, a young scientist lured to a secluded island under the pretense of curing her terminally sick mother. While there she discovers there is more to this island and its inhabitants than it seems.

Wells wrote such notable novels as “The Time Machine,” “The Island of Dr. Moreau,” “The War of the Worlds” and “The Invisible Man”.

George Northy (“Charmed”) is executive producing for SideCar Content Accelerator and Universal TV. Gail Berman and Hend Baghdady will also executive produce.
