Here’s something worth setting your Tivos for. Beginning April 1st Showtime will air the ten-part series “The Tudors” which looks at the early years of the reign of Henry the Eighth.
Jonathan Rhys Meyers stars as the young, fit and impetuous monarch who later went on to become the larger, bearded, multiply-married figure we’ve come to know.
Events cover the ten years between his coronation and his first divorce. It’s similar to 1998’s superb “Elizabeth” in concept, no surprise though considering its from the same writer.
Sam Neill, Jeremy Northam, Henry Czerny, Henry Cavill, Callum Blue, Natalie Dormer, James Frain and Gabrielle Anwar are amongst the stellar line up.
