Werner Herzog (“Grizzly Man,” “Encounters at the End of the World”) is set to direct a film adaptation of D.B.C. Pierre’s coming-of-age novel “Vernon God Little” reports Variety.
Set in Texas, the story follows a teenager caught up in the aftermath of a high-school shooting committed by his best friend. “Name of the Rose” and “Perfume” scribe Andrew Birkin is adapting the script.
Producer Bernd Eichinger was developing the project before he died, his wife Katja Eichinger is now taking over his duties on the film.
