Danika Yarosh (“Heroes Reborn”) is in talks to join the cast of Ed Zwick’s upcoming “Jack Reacher” sequel at Paramount Pictures and Skydance Pictures.
Based on Lee Child’s eighteen novel in the series “Never Go Back,” the story has Reacher (Tom Cruise) traveling from South Dakota to the Virginia headquarters of the U.S. Army Military Police Corps and finds his new commanding officer has been arrested.
Yarosh seemed to rise to the top over some more well known talent in chemistry reads with Cruise. Yarosh’s TV schedule could potentially conflict with the project, but as of now she is the top choice.
Cobie Smulders is also in talks to star in the film as said commanding officer, while the movie’s villain is also being sought. Yarosh will play a young woman who has a key link to Reacher.
Zwick and and Marshall Herskovitz penned the most recent draft of the script after Richard Wenk penned the earlier draft. Cruise and Don Granger are producing and shooting is slated to begin next month ahead of an October 2016 release.
