Superman actor Henry Cavill is set to take on the role of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famed fictional sleuth Sherlock Holmes in “Enola Holmes” for Legendary Pictures.
The film is an adaptation of Nancy Springer’s Edgar Award-nominated “Enola Holmes Mysteries” novel series which spans multiple installments and follows on Sherlock and Mycroft Holmes’ teenage sister Enola as she strikes out as a capable detective.
“Stranger Things” and “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” actress Millie Bobby Brown will play Enola while Helena Bonham Carter came onboard earlier today in the role of Enola’s mother.
Harry Bradbeer (“Killing Eve”) directs with Jack Thorne set to pen the screenplay. Brown will also be serving as producer. Filming begins this Summer. Cavill will next be seen in Netflix’s “The Witcher” series.
