“Mad Men” and “Drive” actress Christina Hendricks has left Cameron Crowe’s “Roadies” TV pilot in the wake of a creative shake-up.
Deadline reports that though the pilot has already been shot, Crowe has decided to completely revamp it and re-conceive the main character of Shelli. As a result, he is currently in the process of re-writing the series. Hendricks’s departure is said to be entirely amicable due to what is purely a creative change.
The series follows the day-to-day life of a successful rock tour as seen through the eyes of the crew members who help get the show on the road.
Luke Wilson, Imogen Poots, Rafe Spall, Peter Cambor and Keisha Castle-Hughes also star in the series. Winnie Holzman and J.J. Abrams executive produce with Crowe.
