Aussie actors Liam Hemsworth (“The Last Song”) and Teresa Palmer (“I Am Number Four”) are in negotiations to join the indie drama “AWOL” reports Variety.
Austin Stowell, Aimee Teegarden, Chris Lowell and Max Adler are also in talks for the project which is based on a true story set against the anti-war movement at the University of Michigan.
Stowell plays a young soldier in Vietnam who gets dumped by his hometown girl (Teegarden) and goes AWOL with his best friend (Hemsworth). Returning to the States, he tries to win back her affections.
Danny Mooney is making his directorial debut on the Jim Burnstein and Garrett Schiff-penned film. Shooting begins mid-July in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
