Hbo Teases Chernobyl Undoing Thrones

HBO has premiered the first trailer for the five-part miniseries “Chernobyl” based on the 1986 explosion at the nuclear power plant. The series will zoom in on the lives of the men and women who acted heroically to mitigate the catastrophic damage that devastated the former Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic.

Jared Harris, Stellan Skarsgard, Emily Watson, Paul Ritter, Jessie Buckley, Adrian Rawlins, Barry Keoghan, Adam Nagaitis, Sam Troughton, Fares Fares and Ralph Ineson star. Johan Renck (“The Walking Dead”) helms based on the script by Craig Mazin, who will also serve as an executive producer. The mini-series premieres May 6th.

Also today, Edgar Ramirez and Lily Rabe have been cast opposite Nicole Kidman, Hugh Grant and Donald Sutherland in HBO’s six-episode limited series “The Undoing” written by David E. Kelley (“Big Little Lies”) and directed by Susanne Bier (“The Night Manager”). Ramirez will play Detective Joe Mendoza and Rabe will portray Sylvia Steinetz.

Nicole Kidman stars as Grace Sachs who is living the only life she ever wanted for herself. She’s a successful New York therapist, has a devoted husband (Grant) and young son who attends an elite private school. Overnight a chasm opens in her life: a violent death, a missing husband, and a chain of terrible revelations. Left behind in the wake of a spreading and very public disaster, and horrified by the ways in which she has failed to heed her own advice, Grace must dismantle one life and create another for her child and herself.

Finally, HBO has offered a pair of featurettes for the final season of “Game of Thrones” which is only a little over two weeks away. The clips explore the camera work and stunts of what is the biggest show on television. The clips sadly don’t show any new footage from the new season.
